Why I was interested in homeopathy
Homeopathy helped my son who could hardly hear due to chronic ear infections (and glue ear) and so was very late to develop speech, I was so impressed at the speed of his recovery that I decided to learn how to use homeopathy on my family at home for acute illnesses such as fevers and eventually studied formally to become a homeopath.
My homeopathic training and my practice
I graduated from the Welsh School of Homeopathy,in 2001 after a four year part time course that covered medical sciences and flower essences as well a homeopathy. Since then have built up a busy practice treating a wide variety of people - first in Wales and now in Kent.
Why am I interested in doing research with children?
As a mother of two boys I enjoyed the company of children and got plenty of practice treating many childhood problems and sick children and their parents! It is phenomenal what an impact homeopathy can have on a family with chronic health issues and flower essences are supportive and very gentle too.
For many years I have treated children with behavioural problems, learning difficulties and developmental delay but my interest in autistic children came following successful treatment of an autistic child with a single dose of a single remedy. One appointment the child was showing full autistic symptoms and by the next, they had disappeared! I was as amazed as the mother and it spurred me on to work with more children whom homeopathy might help as dramatically. Since then I have had ongoing successes with children with ASD though I should point out that I never know exactly how far I will be able to help a child on their road to recovery at the onset of treatment as everyone is different
